My name is Belver Ladson and I've been involved in the candy
wrapper industry for a few years. I started learning about it, only
to find that it was something I loved. I can use my creativity as
well as my business skills. I adore being able to put my
ideas into designs that people can use to make money for
themselves. One of my major goals in life has been to help
others earn additional income, which in turn will help me earn an
income. I see it as a complete circle that is a win-win situation
for everyone involved.
Wrapfest has been a dream of mine that was on the backburner for a
long time. Originally, the thought of a convention for
those in the candy wrapping profession was bantered about at some
of my online chats. Difficulties kept me from being able to
have a convention in some far away city where people could go to
and have fun as well as learn about the profession. A friend,
Terri James, reminded me about the convention idea and spoke to me
about having it online. Still a bit hesitant, I decided
that this type of convention COULD be done and it COULD be a
success. All the planning and organizing is going to
make Wrapfest 2004! a great success.
More Information About Belver
Owner of Belverbears, a graphics and
business kit company, Belver has been in business for a few
years. Belver started drawing at the age of 9 and that love
of art has lead her to her unique graphics style. Initially
starting with just teddy bear artwork, she has recently branched
out into doing more floral and "people" characters.
Belver is dedicated to seeing the candy wrapper industry become the
best it can be. She has opened and maintains numerous internet
websites pertaining to the candy wrapper industry, such as
CandyWrapperBook.com,
The Candy Bar Wrappers
Association of America and BizArtCafe.com which is a place
to find commercial graphics that can be used on candy wrappers
and other products people might sell.
The Candy Bar Wrappers
Association is the first trade group for those in the candy
wrapping profession. "I'd like to see standards set in the
industry as well as let candy wrappers professionals know
that they are an integral part of the celebration/party/event
industry," says Belver.
Belver's goal is to make the candy wrapper industry be seen as more
of a "hobby business" and moved into the realm of being a viable
business option for work-at-home mothers, those who are disabled in
any way, as well as being an option for anyone who wishes to make
additional or primary income.
